PUR coating of skates for Aalborg Hospital
AAG supplies custom made PUR coating for skates, which is used for patients at Aalborg Hospital. The skates are used for patients with fractures in the legs, where there is a need to build a ring system around the foot. In these cases, patients cannot stand on their own foot for the first six weeks, but with the skates, the patients can walk around.
Aalborg Hospital deliver the skates with the worn coating to AAG, which is cleaned off, and then the new PUR coating is mounted on the skates. Read more about the case below.
In a close dialogue with Aalborg Hospital, AAG has specially designed a mold that meets the requirements and the unique needs of the solution. It was especially important here that the coating provided a non-slip surface, so that patients do not fall when they walk with the skates. The skates are therefore coated with the extremely durable plastic material polyurethane (PUR) in hardness 65 shore A. PUR has a very good carrying capacity and high elasticity, making the material ideal for this solution. In addition, the material is molded with a uneven surface. This composition provides a non-slip coating of the skates, making them easier and safer to walk with.
